Music Street is a 4-piece band, from Reading, MA. We utilize the talents of a keyboard player, bass guitarist, lead/rhythm guitarist and drummer. We are all cousins, and all band members sing lead and backing vocals. Our sound is completely live and in stereo. Our keyboard player layers sounds on top of the piano (brass, strings, harmonica, etc.) to provide a rich full sound not heard in most 4-piece bands. We've played numerous weddings, parties and clubs throughout our career. It is and always has been our goal to play the songs people want to hear, the way they should be heard, like the original artist. Our selections of music range from the 50s-current and is a mixture of rock, pop, funk, and country. What we play at our engagements is tapered for the crowd we’re playing for.
Our story began as kids air jamming to music always telling ourselves, "One day, we'll be a band"! That dream became a reality while we were still in high school. John, Russ and George started the band known as Spooner and the Heaford Junction. Meanwhile, Mike had started his music career in high school as well, with the band Private Stares. After high school we all went our separate ways until 1990. John suggested we get back together. Quick funny story, we were searching for a band name an on a trip to Martha's Vinyard and Russ saw a sign called Music Street. We got back and he said, "that's it, that's the name" and Music Street was born. Mike joined us in 1995 and we've been playing together ever since! We're currently looking to get back into the club scene and hoping to have some public appearances soon.
